Fit Standard 2.0
[ Measure · Compare · Confirm ]

This guide helps you choose the right size with fewer assumptions. Because pet products vary by material, structure, and intended use, we recommend measuring first, then selecting size based on the product’s fit intent and your pet’s routine.

Measure First

Use a soft tape. Round to the nearest 0.5 in or 1 cm.

Fit Intent

Choose based on whether the product is snug, standard, or roomy.

Between Sizes

Go up for rigid structures; stay closer for flexible materials.

Confirmation

Compare measurements to the product page. Contact support for expert help.

A simple measurement workflow

Accurate sizing starts with consistent measuring points. Use a soft tape and measure with your pet standing naturally. If your pet is between positions, take 2–3 measurements and use the average.

Step 01

Chest / Girth: measure the widest part of the chest, usually behind the front legs.

Step 02

Neck: measure where a collar naturally sits; keep it level and not overly tight.

Step 03

Back length: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail (follow the spine line).

Step 04

Weight (optional): use as a secondary reference, not a primary sizing method.

Step 05

Record measurements and compare them to the product’s chart. Choose fit intent before final selection.

Snug, standard, or roomy

Two pets with the same measurements may prefer different fits depending on routine and comfort sensitivity. Use the guidance below to decide what “right fit” means for your pet.

  • Snug fit Stable and close contact; suitable when the product must stay in place.
  • Standard fit Balanced; comfortable for most routines and normal movement.
  • Roomy fit More space; useful for thicker coats or comfort-first preferences.
  • Flex materials Knits and softer constructions tolerate closer fit.
  • Rigid structures Firm forms often feel better with slightly more room.
  • Movement pattern Active routines may require extra comfort margin.

How to select with fewer mistakes

Use chest/girth as the primary measurement unless the product page specifies otherwise. Neck and back length help confirm. If a product has adjustable components, choose the size that places your measurement in the middle of the range.

  • Primary chest/girth (most reliable for fit stability).
  • Confirm neck and back length.
  • Adjustment aim for mid-range, not max-tight or max-loose.
  • Between sizes choose based on structure (rigid = size up; flexible = stay closer).
  • Thick coat allow additional room where needed.
  • Comfort sensitivity choose standard/roomy for pets sensitive to pressure.

A reference framework

Because products vary, the product page chart is always the final reference. The framework below helps you standardize how you compare measurements across products.

Unit Choice
Use inches or centimeters consistently. Do not mix units.
Primary Metric
Treat Chest / Girth as the primary metric unless otherwise stated.
Tolerance
Allow small tolerance for soft materials; keep stricter for rigid structures.
Adjustment
Choose the size where your measurement sits near the middle of the range.
Record Format
CHEST / NECK / BACK + date + preferred fit

Common sizing exceptions

When sizing feels confusing, it is usually because one measurement is out of proportion with another, or coat thickness/sensitivity are not accounted for.

  • Wide chest, narrow neck: size by chest; use adjustability for neck.
  • Between sizes: choose based on structure and fit intent.
  • Thick coat seasonality: size may change across seasons; re-measure.
  • Short back length: prioritize movement; avoid over-long coverage.
  • High activity: avoid overly tight fits that restrict movement.
  • First-time: contact support with measurements for confirmation.
